The contract for this project included renewing the field lighting as well as the spectator area and event lighting. The existing light control system was to be inspected, maintained, and supplemented with a new DMX control system.
Primarily, it involved the complete replacement of the existing 2KW floodlights from PHILIPS, thereby increasing the illuminance to >2500 lx (Emed). Subsequently, a check of the light emission was carried out.
In addition, the task included the maintenance and reconnection of the existing switch cabinets to the control panels.
The implementation of a new DMX-based control system and its integration with the on-site remote control system of the building were also to be realized.
Due to further construction work in the stadium, the completion deadline for the lighting of the field and spectator areas was less than 7 weeks.

A Showcase of Modern Design
With a vision of creating a high-performance, cost-effective workspace, the lighting solution needed to fulfill several key criteria. First and foremost, energy efficiency was a priority to keep long-term operational costs low while promoting sustainability.
At the same time, the lighting had to complement the building’s modern design, providing a sleek, contemporary look. Ensuring uniform, glare-free illumination was another crucial requirement, particularly in circulation areas and staircases, where visibility and comfort are essential. Lastly, a long lifespan was vital to minimize maintenance efforts, aligning with the project’s commitment to sustainability and reducing disruptions in a busy workspace. This case study is particularly relevant for installers, facility managers, and lighting designers, as it demonstrates how carefully selected LED solutions can enhance workspaces while reducing costs and environmental impact.
Sleek appearance of the new Black PopPack
To meet these needs, PopPack LED batten fittings were chosen as the ideal solution. These luminaires offer exceptional efficiency, exceeding 100 lumens per watt, significantly reducing energy consumption compared to traditional fluorescent lighting. With a 50,000-hour lifespan, they require minimal maintenance, translating to significant long-term cost savings.
The special textured prismatic diffuser and anti-fly design ensure glare-free illumination while preventing the black spots caused by insect ingress—an essential feature in high-traffic circulation areas. The 4000K color temperature and high color rendering index (CRI >80) create a natural and comfortable lighting experience, enhancing visibility and the overall ambiance of the space. Additionally, the sleek black finish was specifically chosen to align with modern commercial interiors, addressing the growing demand for stylish, high-performance luminaires in office environments.
The combination of durability, low maintenance, and optimized performance makes PopPack LED a standout choice for forward-thinking workspaces like Arbeta, where high-quality illumination is key to fostering a productive and inspiring environment.
